Lost Mascots 2: Crody

img_2726img_2727img_2728Jurong Crocodile Paradise was not the only Crocodile farm in Singapore; there were the Tan Moh Hong Reptile Skin & Crocodile Farm, Singapore Crocodilarium and the Long Kuan Hung Crocodile Farm, and all of them except for the last closed down. Jurong Crocodile Paradise was opened in 1988 opposite the Jurong Bird Park, and changed names several times (e.g. Jurong Reptile & Crocodile Paradise, Singapore Crocodile Paradise, Jurong Reptile Park) before shutting down in 2006. In 1989 they created a mascot by the name of “Crody” from a “Name the Mascot” competitions. This affable crocodile then became a common feature of the Jurong Crocodile Paradise, appearing on souvenirs acquired from the venue. In this series here, are the bookmark and three badges bearing the images of Crody.
