Lost Mascots 6: Mosquito-Buster

One year before the bland but affable Captain Green made its appearance in the “Clean and Green Campaign” in 1990, a more interesting looking, but unfortunately ill fated cousin of the frog made its appearance in the form of Mosquito-Buster. Then Ministry of the Environment (ENV), before becoming Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources (MEWR) launched the “Mosquito Buster” campaign  (the choice of the moniker perhaps due to the popularity of Ghostbusters) targeted at school children in 1989, to educate children on prevention of mosquito breeding and also dengue fever. This frog sticker and badge, came together in a pack consisting also of eraser, clip and a colouring booklet.
